Digitally remastered in HD; Photographic Intelligence for Bombardment Aviation (1943) was produced by the U.S. Army Air Forces First Motion Picture Unit, and was designed to demystify a then rapidly evolving technique.
The present 24 minute film relies a little heavily on jargon and abbreviations, and depends largely on the no-nonsense charisma of Alan Ladd to get the points across… while Robert Lowry occasionally threatens us with his bagpipes.
By the way, the “Scottish Castle” shown at the very start is in Ireland: The Rock of Cashel in Tipperary, long the seat of the Kings of Munster and the place where Brian Boru was crowned. Uninhabited for centuries it is now open to tourists.
