Released in 1943, this newsreel shows West Point during the stewardship of Major General Francis Bowditch Wilby (April 24, 1883 – November 20, 1965). Wilby served as the 39th Superintendent of the United States Military Academy from 1942 to 1945, during World War II. Many of the Cadet Corps athletic activities are shown from football to water polo, as well as combat training, classroom instruction including the all-important engineering and aerodynamics classes, study of instrument flight in a Link trainer, communications training, Stewart Field where Cadets earn their wings or become observers, and more. The film ends with a montage of some of the famous men who attended the Point from MacArthur to Ulysses Grant and George Custer.
