In Episode 7 of Battlefield Banter, I welcome back New York Times bestselling author Jeff Shaara for a conversation about Abraham Lincoln and his upcoming novel, The Unfinished Work: A Novel of Abraham Lincoln, releasing November 10, 2026.
Shaara’s new book brings readers into Lincoln’s world, exploring the public responsibilities and personal burdens of a president confronting a nation divided by war. We talk about the novel and Lincoln himself, whose place in American history continues to inspire both admiration and debate.
Whether you’re a longtime reader of Shaara’s work or simply want to spend some time talking Lincoln, join us for a conversation about one of the Civil War’s most consequential figures.
