Women's History Month is almost over, but it's not over yet! Helping us close out this incredible month is the newest installment in our Wive's of The Bloody Hundredth series; the story of WASP Josephine Pitz Egan. If her name sounds familiar, that's because she was also the wife of Hundredth Bomb Group pilot, John "Bucky" Egan, but a look at her life and story tells us that she was much more than that! Not only was she the first woman in Manitowoc to get her private pilot's license, but she held that coveted reward long before WASP Director Jackie Cochran- an accolade that Josephine doesn't leave out! Josephine lived a full life long after the WASP disbandment, retiring a First Lieutenant from the reserves, and serving at WASP Headquarters in Washington, DC. Grab your coffee and a fresh sinker and join us in The Clubmobile for a look at one of history's women of the skies!
Audio and video clips of Josephine Egan are property of the Baylor University Institute for Oral History
