This show features Wallace Gusler from Williamsburg Virginia in forging, filing and bluing a very fine 18th century style tomahawk using period proper techniques with hand tools. Two styles of tomahawks are forged to include a head with integral pipe head and one from strap wrought iron with separate pipe bowl. Wallace shows how to weld the steel bit into the forged iron head. He also demonstrates how to make and fit the handle. Bonus material shows modifying a hot cutter for making tomahawks.
