The Civil War is filled with stories of friends and family enlisting together, especially earlier in the war. Along with the communities they lived in coming together to support their soldiers as they left home. Mike Huston, a collector, shares one of these stories from Iowa. Let’s meet a group of men who banded together and became known as the University Recruits. Learn their story as soldiers that started and ended at Upper Iowa University. We are thrilled to have traveled to the University to film this episode.
